Copyright in web sites and other materials created by contractors

Copyright is a hot topic at the moment. I delivered a seminar at Cranfield University earlier this month covering, amongst other things, the legal position on ownership of various kinds of intellectual property.

The delegates were surprised to find that they might not own the copyright in web sites and other materials created by contractors. This issue comes up regularly and can be a real problem, even for the likes of the Daily Mirror and European Commission.

I was delighted to help one of my clients resolve a similar issue last year. If you are concerned that you may not own the intellectual property in materials you have paid for and would like a free, confidential and without obligation chat, please do get in touch – karen.mason@novalex.co.uk or 07966 410984.
