Dispute to end in court

The Intellectual Property Office has decided to refer a dispute to the High Court because of issues of non-technical fact and non-patent law raised in the dispute. These issues relate to an allegation that a video clip had been falsified and the validity of an assignment of rights in the invention from the claimant to the defendant. Both parties were prepared to let the hearing officer decide the issues but he decided it was more appropriate to refer all matters in dispute to the High Court judge.
