Privacy at Google

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has published an executive summary of its data protection audit on Google which took place in July this year. This follows the agreement by Google to take certain measures when it was found in breach of data protection relating to Streetview. The ICO is reasonably assured that Google has implemented the necessary changes to its privacy processes, including building privacy safeguards into the design of new products and having proper data protection training and internal systems in place. However, the executive summary recommends further steps to ensure that the improvements consistently cover all products and personnel across the company.
