Copyright infringed?

In a complex case involving a sole trader as claimant, the Patents County Court has dismissed an application to have it transferred to the High Court. The case involves a claim against large companies that they had used fund management software outside the terms of their licence. It was decided that whether or not the defendants owned the copyright by virtue of having commissioned its creation was a simple matter which could be addressed as a preliminary issue in the Patents County Court.
